On Wednesday, 13 May 2026, the Press Conference for the 14th Regional Growth Conference was successfully held at the conference hall of the Athens Chamber of Tradesmen.
As part of the presentation, Theodoros Louloudis, Publisher of the newspaper “Peloponnisos” and Organizer of the Regional Growth Conference, presented this year’s programme, the main pillars of the conference, as well as indicative themes from more than 110 sessions of RGC 2026. Special reference was made to the institution’s 14-year journey, its contribution to public dialogue, and the need to strengthen Regional Development across the country.
The Regional Governor of Western Greece, Nektarios Farmakis, emphasized that the central message of the conference is that “development is everyone’s responsibility”, highlighting the role of RGC as an important forum for dialogue on the future of the regions, the real economy, and regional Greece.
The Vice Rector of the University of Patras, George Panagiotopoulos, underlined the importance of the University of Patras’ participation as co-organizer, noting that RGC has evolved into an institution of meaningful dialogue, where the real issues of the next day for the region and the country are discussed.
Greetings were delivered by the President of the Athens Chamber of Tradesmen, Konstantinos Damigos, Christina Fountzoula, political figure of the Aitoloakarnania region, Dimitris Gratsias, CEO of IEK SVIE, as well as Lefki Roussou, Director of the Press Office of the Mayor of Palaio Faliro, Ioannis Fostiropoulos.
The 14th Regional Growth Conference will take place from 19 to 21 May 2026 in Patras, at the Conference and Cultural Center of the University of Patras.
